Adfecto is a unique organisation offering professional development and support for schools.  Created over 25 years ago, Adfecto is a charity owned by Gloucestershire Association of Secondary Headteachers Ltd.  The trustees are all serving secondary headteachers in Gloucestershire and most of our trainers and consultants are school-based.

Our aim is to provide ‘cradle to retirement’ support and development for education professionals.  Building on the work of our partner organisation, Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership, we provide programmes and support for newly qualified teachers, improving teachers, middle leaders, senior leaders and governors.

Adfecto is a strategic partner in several teaching school alliances in Gloucestershire.  Although much of our work is in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties we work with schools across the country through various partnerships:

• The SBM Partnership, which includes Adfecto, Serco and the Institute for School Business Leaders, provides courses nationally for school business professionals
• The Science Learning Partnership for Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire and Swindon, a partnership between Adfecto and STEM Learning
• The Computing Hub for Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire, Swindon, Bristol and Bath.  This is part of the National Centre for Computing Education and is a new partnership with Adfecto, Pate’s Grammar School and the NCCE
