NQT Behaviour Management

This is a solutions-based behaviour management course designed to support NQTs with the demands of ‘real world’ and ‘Covid-safe’ classroom management. Teachers will be given practical ideas to help them develop and refine a range of strategies which reinforce their ability to:

  • promote a positive learning environment
  • avoid and diffuse conflict whilst keeping the focus on learning
  • manage learning effectively in the classroom
  • develop strategies to maximise engagement with remote learning

Becca Petrie

Becca has been teaching for over twenty years, most of them in Gloucestershire secondary schools. She has held a number of roles including Head of Year and Subject Leader as well as spending three years in an advisory and training position as a Behaviour Management specialist for Gloucestershire County Council. Now teaching at Barnwood Park School, Becca is the GITEP mentor for History. As someone who spends most of her time in the classroom she is well-placed to provide Behaviour Management training and support for NQTs across the County and beyond.
